Many carpet cleaners charge based on a price per area. An 'area' roughly corresponds to a room. Companies will usually define areas as having a maximum size and rooms greater than this maximum are typically counted as 2 areas. Parts of your house like baths, halls, stairs and closets may be treated as areas or partial areas. See the pricing details section of this page for how each company prices such rooms.
This is a treatment applied to the carpet to emulsify grease, oils, and ground in dirt
Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) certified firms must demonstrate proof of insurance, maintain a written customer complaint policy with documented follow-up and provide ongoing education and training for all technicians. They are also required to abide by the IICRC Code of Ethics.
Technicians IICRC certified: Just because the firm is certified, doesn't mean that the technician performing the work on your house has been certified as a Carpet Cleaning Technician. Certified technicians should be able to provide proof of certification to customers.
