Implant + Crown
Surgery to place implant

When a tooth is removed, it can be replaced with a crown mounted to an implant. Implants are the foundation for crowns. Crowns are artificial replacement teeth and are alternatives to dentures. Implants are joined to crowns with an abutment. Implants are surgically placed into the bone where the tooth once was. Before they are ready for a abutment/crown to be mounted on them, implants may need to be in place several months to allow time for the bone to fuse to the implant.

Abutment for implant

When a tooth is removed and replaced with a crown mounted to an implant, the abutment is a stub that is first attached to the implant. The crown is then permanently mounted to the abutment. Typically, the abutment it is made of either titanium or ceramic material. The abutment can either be prefabricated or custom. The cost listed here assumes it is prefabricated. ADA Code D6056

Crown

A crown is a cap that covers a tooth to restore the tooth?s strength, shape size and, primarily, improve the tooth?s appearance. Once affixed to a tooth or dental implant, the crown covers the entire tooth surface from the gumline up. There are a number of different materials that crowns can be made of. The cost reflected here is for a porcelain fused to metal crown. ADA Code: D2750

Cosmetic Dental Procedures
Porcelain veneers

Also referred to as dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates, veneers are wafer-thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto the front side of teeth. They improve the appearance of teeth that are stained, chipped, or slightly misaligned

Teeth whitening

Cosmetic procedure to restore your teeth to their earlier brightness. An ?arch? refers to either your upper teeth or your lower teeth. Most patients whiten both upper and lower arches. Double the price listed here for prices on whitening both arches.

Whitening system

If used over extended periods of time, most dentists believe whitening kits deliver the best results. However, they must be used regularly over several weeks. The first step of this process involves the dentist creating a flexible plastic ?tray? that is custom fit to your teeth. The tray ensures that the bleaching gel stays in contact with your teeth. Kits usually include enough gel for an initial daily treatment lasting 2 weeks plus enough for the occasional touch up treatment.

Dental Technology
Dental lasers

Compared to traditional alternatives, laser dentistry can offer greater precision for procedures, reduced discomfort and faster healing time. Lasers provide dentists with a additional precision tool that may allow them to avoid a drill or anesthesia. Lasers can be used for wide range of procedures for both teeth and gums including preparation for fillings, detecting cavities, reshaping gums and teeth whitening. Lasers can also reduce the amount of bacteria in the gums and tooth cavities and control bleeding during surgery.

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays offer a number of advantages over traditional film-based approach, similar to the advantages that digital cameras offer. Digital x-rays are more sensitive than film. They yield more precise images and can cut your exposure to radiation by as much as 90%. They are also faster to process.

CAD/CAM dentistry

Computer-aided design manufacturing. CAD/CAM technology is used by dentists to more accurately design and produce dental crowns and other restorative dental devices.
